Lucy Doherty is a dance artist, choreographer, director & producer whose professional practice has spanned across fifteen years with an ongoing string of projects that have allowed Lucy to develop immense versatility as a performer and showcased her as a creative talent to take note of.

Lucy is an Eora-based artist, choreographer, and performance maker working across dance, film, and live performance. With over fifteen years of professional experience, her practice centres on embodiment, connection, and place. She approaches movement as a vessel for sensation, spirit, and shared experience.

Her work spans intimate site-responsive performances and experimental film to large-scale commercial projects. She has presented work both nationally and internationally across stage and screen, collaborating with renowned artists and creative directors including The Squared Division and George Maple, and with major brands such as Hermès, Dom Perignon, Myer, and Disney. Lucy’s choreographic voice adapts fluidly across contexts while maintaining a signature depth and emotional intelligence.

Her acclaimed dance films have received two Australian Dance Award nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Dance on Film. In 2015, Lucy self-produced and toured her first full-length work One, a formative project that laid the foundation for her values-led approach to artmaking. She is the director of Otherworld, a queer-led dance company creating collaborative, often site-responsive works grounded in care and creative risk.

Lucy's projects explore themes of grief, queerness, and connection. She is invested in how dance can create spaces for belonging, expand ways of being together, and offer transformative experiences.

From advertising campaigns to festivals, music videos to art galleries, Lucy brings a collaborative spirit and grounded artistry to every project. She continues to move between worlds, commercial and experimental, intimate and expansive. Offering work that is at once visually striking, emotionally resonant, and rich with intention.
